How to Resolve Ownership Conflicts

This feature provides a notification and resolution tool when new, official registry data becomes available and conflicts with manual edits previously made to a company's ownership structure. It prompts you to choose which set of data is correct

What is an Ownership Conflict?

A notification will appear if you (or a teammate) manually edited a company's ownership, and the system later receives an official data update from a public registry that contradicts those manual edits. You must then decide whether to keep your custom data or adopt the new official data.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. When a conflict is detected, the "Resolve data conflicts" window will appear

  2. The system will present two options side-by-side:

  • Option 1: Updated official ownership data: This shows the new information just received from the official registry, including the data source and date.

  • Option 2: With custom ownership data: This shows the existing ownership structure as it was manually edited by a user. It will also display who made the edit and when.

The company's profile will be updated with the ownership structure you selected and the conflict notification will be resolved. This selected data will now be the new baseline for that company's profile
