Monitoring Alerts Settings

Updated this week

The Monitoring Alerts settings page lets you control which types of changes trigger alerts for your team, and how you are notified. These settings are found under Settings in the app and can be managed by team managers.

⚠️ Heads up: Changing your monitoring settings may trigger new alerts. When the criteria change, entities that were not previously flagged might now generate alerts — and vice versa.

What can you configure?

The settings page is divided into four sections:

1. Show Monitoring Alerts view

This toggle controls whether the Monitoring Alerts page appears in the app sidebar. If you turn it off, the page is hidden for your entire team. Use this with caution — alerts will still be delivered via email or API if those are enabled, but your team won't see them in the app.

2. PEP Alerts

PEP (Politically Exposed Person) alerts notify you when PEP-related changes occur for entities you are monitoring.

You can choose how sensitive these alerts should be:

Option A — Status-based alerts (less frequent): You only get an alert when a person's overall PEP or RCA (Relative or Close Associate) status changes — for example, when someone becomes a PEP or is no longer flagged as one.

Option B — Hit-based alerts (more detailed): You get an alert for every individual change in screening hits — new hits found, existing hits updated, or hits removed.

You can also turn on email notifications to receive PEP alerts by email in addition to the in-app view.

3. Sanctions Alerts

Sanctions alerts notify you when sanctions-related changes occur for monitored entities.

Similar to PEP alerts, you can choose between:

Option A — Status-based alerts: Only alerts when the overall sanctioned status changes.

Option B — Hit-based alerts: Alerts on every change at the individual hit level — added, changed, or removed hits.

Email notifications are also available for sanctions alerts.

4. Relation Alerts

Relation alerts notify you about changes in the ownership and role structure of companies you monitor. This section has four sub-categories, each of which can be turned on or off independently:

Change in roles — Alerts when people in company roles change (e.g. board members, executives). You can exclude specific role types (e.g. Auditors) if those changes are not relevant to you.

Change in owners — Alerts when the ownership of a company changes. You can set a minimum ownership threshold (default: 5%) so you only get alerted for significant ownership changes.

Change in ownership — Alerts when a company's own holdings change (e.g. subsidiaries). You can set a minimum threshold here too (default: 5%).

Change in beneficial owners — Alerts when beneficial owners change. A minimum ownership threshold applies (default: 5%). Note: Some beneficial owners identified through family relations or roles have no percentage — these are always included if beneficial owner alerts are enabled.

Email notifications can be enabled for relation alerts as well.
