Adverse Media Screening (AMS) helps you find negative news articles about the companies and people in your portfolio. The AMS settings let you control what is searched for and how results are filtered.
You can find these settings under Settings > AMS in the app. Only team managers can change these settings.
Who gets screened?
AMS screens both companies and persons. When Strise screens an entity, it doesn't just look at the entity itself β it also checks connected parties such as beneficial owners, board members, shareholders, and subsidiaries. This gives you a broader view of potential risk.
Search Duration
This setting controls how far back in time Strise searches for adverse media articles. You can limit results to the last 1, 2, 3, or 5 years. Standard setting is 3 years.
Tip: Setting a shorter time period can help reduce noise from older results β especially useful if a company has recently changed ownership or management.
Search Languages
You can choose which languages are used when searching for adverse media. The available languages are:
Danish
English
Finnish
Norwegian
Swedish
By default, all languages are included. If your portfolio is focused on a specific market, you can limit the search to the most relevant languages.
Filtering Results
Sources
You can include or exclude specific web domains from your AMS results (for example, filtering by .gov, .com, or .eu). This is useful if you want to focus on authoritative sources or remove domains that produce irrelevant results for your team.
Topics
AMS results are organised by topics such as financial crime, corruption, violence, and cyber crime. By default, all topics are included.
If certain topics are not relevant to your compliance work, you can remove them here β but be careful: removing a topic means hits related to that topic will no longer appear for any entity in your portfolio.
